Visit The Leland Stanford Museum and Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park in Downtown Sacramento! Originally built in 1856 by Gold Rush merchant, Sheldon Fergus, the Stanford family later purchased and twice remodeled the home which has now been fully restored to it’s Victorian grandeur. The Mansion served as the offices for three governors in the 1860’s, eventually became a children’s home, and now serves as the State of California’s official reception center for dignitaries from around the world.
The Museum hours are 10am – 5pm Wednesday through Sunday with the last available tour beginning at 4pm.
